Dr. Tim Kuball is a geropsychologist and researcher working at the intersection of ageing, technology and culture. Beyond academia, he works with companies and initiatives on products, services and environments that reflect the diversity of people across the entire life course. At MW:M, he brings insights from the “Smells Like Ageism” research-project and contributes a geropsychological perspective on diversity and the future of an age-inclusive music culture.

Smells Like Ageism

The music industry talks a lot about diversity, but rarely about age. Based on a new industry-wide survey, this session explores how age shapes visibility, bookings, opportunities and belonging across club culture, live music and the wider music ecosystem. Bringing together data, industry perspectives and lived experiences, it asks a simple question: How age-diverse is music culture really and what might we be missing by not talking about it?
