Olaf Kretschmar has been Chairman of the Berlin Music Commission (BMC) since 2011. In 2014, he founded the Music Industry Competence Centre with the BMC and initiated the Most Wanted: Music conference, of which he is still General Director today. He is co-founder of the listen to berlin: Awards (2015) and is involved in the umbrella organisation of cultural funding associations (DAKU) as well as the Berlin Jazz Advisory Board and the State Music Council. He is also chairman of the board of the Bundesverband Pop.
