Marcel Wicker is a music professional who has worked across culture, communications and digital media for 15 years. After working with MOIN Film Fund, feminist NGO Pinkstinks Germany and pop music organisation RockCity Hamburg, Marcel now works as a freelance communications consultant for organisations and cultural institutions. Together with Lara M. Gahlow, Marcel runs Soft Communication, developing discrimination-sensitive communication strategies and training programmes. As a certified Diversity Manager, Marcel focuses on the intersection between communication and accessibility.

Inviting people from a wide range of backgrounds into music and culture is one thing; creating spaces where they can actually feel seen and welcome is another. In this informal Ask Me Anything, diversity manager and communication strategist Marcel Wicker teams up with cultural manager and author Lara M. Gahlow (co-founders of Soft Communication) to explore how communication can support diversity, while also asking where it reaches its limits.
