Lorenzo Ballerini is a sound and new media artist, researcher, and professor of Electroacoustic Music and Multimedia Arts at the Conservatory of Trapani, Italy. Based in Florence, he holds a Master’s degree in Music and New Technologies from the Conservatory of Florence and a Post-Diploma Master’s degree in Artistic Music Research from the Conservatory of Rome.

His practice explores the intersection of sound, digital media, and physical space. Through transmedia installations and performances, he investigates the social, communal and political implications of contemporary technologies and their influence on perception, interaction and collective experience.

His work has been presented at festivals and international events including ADE Festival, ARTECH, Berlin Biennale, Bright Festival, CHB Berlin, Diffrazioni Festival, Fabbrica Europa, GAIDA Festival, ICSC, IRCAM-WAC, MA/IN Festival, MEFF, SMC and Tempo Reale Festival.

He has collaborated with artists including Alvise Vidolin, Christine Meisner, Michele Marasco, Nicola Sani, Paolo Parisi, Roberto Fabbriciani and Tiziano Manca.
