Mental health lead & Therapist (MSc)
Zabam
Lara Tanger is a therapist working in mental health care and is the Mental Health Lead at Zabam, an educational platform at the intersection of music and mental health.

Her therapeutic approach is human-centered, grounded in mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive-behavioural approaches. Her work at Zabam stems from two things: her own love for music and the dancefloor and the mission to build the conditions for a scene in which people can thrive, connect and create in a meaningful way.

That mission came from noticing how the scene can be a unique source of connection and creative expression and how it simultaneously carries real challenges that rarely get talked about. Zabam tries to fill that gap by creating spaces, both online and offline, where people can talk, share, learn and reconnect with what the music scene actually means to them. In her work, she has seen the importance of slowing down and deep listening, to yourself and to others, before chasing quick solutions.

She has seen that when people are given that space, so much more can emerge: real connection, honest reflection and a scene that stays true to what makes it worth showing up for.
