JP Carrascal

JP Carrascal is a Colombian-Spanish researcher, musician and interaction designer, currently based in Barcelona. His latest research topic is the use of digital technology to promote audience participation in music and sound events, which he puts in practice in concerts with his music project Spacebarman. He holds a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction and has worked as researcher for Microsoft, Yahoo!, Telefónica and the Human Media Lab (Queen’s University, Canada). He has published more than 30 academic articles and has presented his artistic work in venues like Ars Electronica (Linz), Sonar (Barcelona), Music Tech Fest (Aveiro), Convent de Sant Agustí (Barcelona) TEI2023 (Warsaw) and SMC2022 (Saint Etienne).
