Rewiring the Invisible: Metadata as a Tool for Equity

Algorithms aren’t just “neutral” machines; they work with what we give them. Right now, global standards like DDEX have huge gaps: they don’t track gender or where an artist actually comes from, usually just where the label is based. This means artists from places like Southeast Europe or female creators often get "erased" by the system because the data doesn't exist to find them.

During the session these structural absences will be discussed and the actual steps for implementation will be devised.
