Alexandra Ivanova

Pianist and composer Alexandra Ivanova looks at the world from different cultural perspectives. A polyglot born to Bulgarian parents in Austria, she opens doors between jazz, Maqam-based traditions and Afro-Cuban claves in her compositions, questioning the Eurocentric canon. Since the release of her debut album “Beauty in Chaos” with her Berlin-based trio in 2023, she has toured extensively across Europe, West Asia and North Africa incl. Cairo & Havanna Jazz Festivals and a jazzahead! showcase.
