Wekaforé Jibril, known mononymously as Wekaforé, is a Nigerian-born multidisciplinary artist whose work spans music, fashion, and cultural activism. Born in Lagos and raised between Nigeria, the Middle East, and later Spain, Wekaforé’s creative output is deeply informed by themes of Black identity, post-colonial thought, and spiritual futurism.
He is the founder of the fashion label Wekafore, known for its afro-retro aesthetic, gender fluid silhouettes, and symbolic representations of Black bodies. Alongside his fashion work, he is also a musician and performer, fronting the genre-blending group Egosex. In addition to his artistic practice, Wekaforé is the founder of Voodoo Club, a cultural creative collective based in Barcelona that centers Afro-diasporic expression. His work has been featured in film, notably contributing music and performance to Paco León’s Netflix Flick Rainbow, and continues to challenge and reshape contemporary narratives around African identity, masculinity, and aesthetics.
