Paula Steinbauer

Paula Steinbauer is a radio presenter whose first on-air experience came at 19 with ALEX Berlin. She later joined Hamburg’s ByteFM, where she still produces her own show and has hosted interview formats spotlighting voices from the city’s cultural scene. After two years at DetektorFM in Leipzig — a role that also led her into podcasting — Paula has contributed to some of Germany’s most respected independent stations. She believes indie radio matters because it allows freedom in both music selection and storytelling, offering space for political and societal conversations that mainstream radio too often sidelines. For her, the studio is a place to explore new sounds, connect with diverse voices, and keep journalism alive between the tracks.
