Nina is a seasoned music industry professional and academic, currently pursuing a PhD on Gender Equality in the German Music Industry. In 2024, she presented her research at several conferences, including IMBRA, IASPM UK and D-A-CH, as well as Reeperbahn Festival. Her research on gender representation in the German charts and on festival stages was featured in the latest Keychange report. She also works on the Live Music Mapping Project, is the director of Liverpool’s ‘Music Yellow Pages’ MusicSeen, host ‘Plattenschatz im Schattenplatz’, a radio show highlighting work by women in music, performs actively as a bassist and singer, lectures at LIPA and teaches the University of Liverpool.
