About Most Wanted: Music
Most Wanted: Music (MW:M) is the most important music business conference in Berlin and a rising European hotspot event for music and creative industry professionals worldwide. It is run by the Berlin Music Commission, the music industry network of Berlin.
Most Wanted: Music aims to start building the music and creative industries of tomorrow, where collaboration is not merely about working together but creating new with modern goals and rallying around a new ethos.
MW:M’s key objectives are: enabling practical know-how transfer, fostering networking and exchange and inspiring new ideas and business models.
Offering a wide range of inspiring keynotes, interviews and debates, hands-on workshops and matchmaking events, MW:M covers the most current and relevant questions of today’s music, tech and creative industries in order to bring direct value to creators and music businesses. The programme includes interactive talks, interviews and workshops with experts and artists from all over the world, experimental networking formats and stunning live performances.
The conference called MW:M Convention is accompanied by the LISTEN TO BERLIN: AWARDS, the awards for remarkable achievements in the Berlin music scene, and MW:M Club Festival, Berlin’s international showcase festival, as well as the MW:M Satellites, a broad variety of partner events distributed around the entire city of Berlin.
MW:M and MW:M Club Festival are organized by Berlin Music Commission, the Network of Berlin Music Industry, on behalf of the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises.. MW:M Club Festival is co-funded by the European Union (EFRE), as a part of the INP-III program of the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Community.
Your tasks
The MW:M marketing team communicates the inspiring programme and the business value of Most Wanted: Music to the outside world. It gains attention and attracts attendees, viewers and partners to participate in the event.
Your role as a Social Media Marketing Manager will be to:
- Analyze our target groups and continuously optimize our social media communication accordingly
- Develop and continuously refine MW:M’s social media strategy across Instagram, LinkedIn and other relevant platforms
- Proactively develop recurring content formats and content series that strengthen our brand and community
- Maintain a rolling social media plan and proactively identify upcoming communication opportunities
- Execute and monitor creative social media campaigns and derive concrete recommendations for future content planning
- Plan, create and publish diverse digital content, including photo, video and short-form content
- Identify compelling stories within the MW:M ecosystem and proactively turn them into engaging social media content
- Get in touch with artists, speakers, partners and team members to create authentic stories and coordinate social media assets
- Proactively coordinate with Programme, Partnerships, Event Management and Marketing to identify relevant stories and upcoming announcements
- Manage and engage with our social media community
- Coordinate all live communication during the festival
- Monitor social media trends, platform updates and algorithm developments and translate them into new content ideas and formats
- Add your personal contribution to the overall success of Most Wanted: Music
Your profile
- You have at least 3 years of social media marketing and content creation experience
- You are passionate about music, culture, creative industries and digital communication
- You understand current developments within the music, tech and creative industries
- You think strategically as well as operationally and know how to translate communication goals into engaging content
- You proactively develop ideas instead of waiting for tasks
- You enjoy building content strategies as much as creating content yourself
- You have an excellent eye for visual communication, branding, typography, photography and video editing
- You understand current social media trends and know how to translate them into relevant content for different platforms
- You think outside the box when developing stories around speakers, artists, programme highlights and event formats
- You know how to identify stories—not just announcements—and turn them into engaging social media content
- You are result-oriented and able to balance creativity with efficiency
- You are well organised, quality-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- You work independently, take ownership of your projects and communicate proactively with internal stakeholders
- You are a team player and an excellent communicator internally and externally
- You are fluent in German and English
Would be a plus
- You have event management experience and you know the processes and requirements of B2B & B2C events and its target groups
- You have experience managing collaborations with artists, creators or speakers

Compensation: based on qualifications (freelance basis)
Maximum contract value: 10.000 €
Note: This contract concerns a publicly funded project with limited financial resources. The contracting authority reserves the right to cancel the tender if the most economically advantageous bid exceeds the available budget.
