Dr. Birte Jung holds a doctorate in landscape planning (TU Berlin) and is an IHK-certified transformation manager for sustainable culture and ISO 20121-certified sustainable event management officer. She has been researching and advising on sustainability for over 10 years, with a particular focus on culture and events in public spaces.
In her interdisciplinary work, she works with stakeholders to promote sustainable, future-proof culture that is compatible with open spaces. She supports events such as the Fête de la Musique Berlin in minimising negative impacts on the environment, climate and society and optimising their sustainability performance. Birte has also developed several guidelines for action, including the guidelines for climate-neutral events in Berlin, and has contributed to the creation of sustainability certifications such as the Green Events Seal from Hamburg.
