Biography

With 15 years experience, Hazel Savage is a music-tech lifer, guitarist, and former CEO/Co-Founder at Musiio. She started her music-tech journey at Shazam and spent time understanding industry pain-points at Pandora, Universal and HMV, before launching Musiio in 2018 and then selling the business to SoundCloud in 2022.

As a female founder in the heavily male-dominated industries of music and tech, Hazel offers insights with interesting anecdotes, and easy-to-follow explanations and use cases of AI tech.

Looking back at Most Wanted: Music 2024 – Sustainability Hub 🌱

One of the first discussions this year featured Linnéa Vågen Svensson, co-founder of Green Operations Europe and head of Greener Events. At the "How can we make live music sustainable amid a climate emergency?" panel, she delivered a powerful message about the urgency of addressing environmental issues in the live music industry.

She reminded us that leadership is key to change, stating:"Somebody needs to make a decision and acknowledge that there is a need to do something… it’s not a priority for them to future-proof the company."

From prioritizing sustainable purchasing to understanding the specific impacts of events – whether it’s travel, food, or energy – the insights shared at MW:M 2024’s Sustainability Hub have sparked important conversations.

It’s clear that as an industry, we have the power to influence change. Now, it’s up to us to take the next step.
