James Brown

HCK9 aka Half Cut K9 is a British electronic alt-rock project written and fronted James Brown. HCK9 creates their own blend of electronic and alternative genres, weaving them together to create a cinematic, sci fi experience with an enraged emo twist. Inspiration can be found from the likes of Placebo, Nine Inch Nails and Twenty One Pilots.

HCK9 are mid-release of debut E.P 'Tell Me It Gets Better'. Previous releases in 2023 have earned radio airplay from BBC Radio 1, Radio X, Amazing Radio, and others. HCK9's recent cover of R.E.M's 'Losing My Religion' also gained plaudits and a sync on both ITV's 'Love Island' and BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing'. Last single 'Insomnia' featured the artist PEAKS! and also gained major radio play and positions on editorial playlists.

The band have also featured at 2023's The Great Escape as well as securing multiple support slots across the UK.
