Tony Nwachukwu is a unique force in the music industry, seamlessly blending his talents as a producer, DJ, lecturer, and consultant. His mission is to forge innovative connections between the realms of music production and learning, creating transformative opportunities for creative professionals and industry insiders.
As the founder and director of CREATE DEFINE RELEASE (CDR), Nwachukwu has established a community-driven organisation dedicated to providing meaningful and sustainable pathways for music producers, artists, and industry professionals. CDR’s far-reaching programs span national and international collaborations, including ongoing partnerships in Berlin, Nairobi, and cities across the UK.
Nwachukwu’s artistic journey is a tapestry woven with diverse threads. His production credits include the acclaimed “Attica Blues” on MoWax/Sony, as well as project monikers such as ‘NEPA Allstar,’ ‘The Wach,’ and ‘WaH-chU-kU.’ His extensive and eclectic production and remix portfolio encompasses collaborations with renowned artists like Chris Ofili, Courtney Pine, The Cinematic Orchestra, Jazzanova, Duran Duran, and U.N.K.L.E.
Nwachukwu’s impact extends beyond his artistic endeavours, as he has dedicated himself to shaping the future of music education. His lecturing, consulting, and learning concepts have been embraced by companies and organisations worldwide, including Red Bull Music Academy, Ableton, Tate Britain, Native Instruments, Apple, The Roundhouse, BIMM, London South Bank University, and the University of East London. Additionally, he serves on the board of the influential music platform Resident Advisor.
Through CDR’s diverse initiatives, ranging from projects for children and young people to activations at renowned festivals like We Out Here and Dimensions, Nwachukwu continues to nurture and elevate some of today’s most forward-thinking artists, producers, and labels, including SBTRKT, Floating Points, Maya Jane Coles, Eglo Recordings, and DBA.
Mushiva is a Berlin-based Namibian street poet, rapper and technologist. One third of the award-winning hip-hop poetry group Black Vulcanite and professionally trained as a computer scientist, Mushiva uses these two experiences to access and project Afro-Accelerationist visions: the dangerous idea that suggests that a deep, rapid, and radical adoption of technology by African people can counteract the adverse effects of racial capitalism.
His latest work, Turbo Summation, brings these ideas to bear. Turbo Summation features a manifesto, synth inspired hip-hop album, music film, and home-made wearable devices that function as speculative objects for an alternate present.
Jordi has more than twenty-five years of experience in the music sector. He has a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona and is co-founder and member of the board of directors at Sound Diplomacy, a leading company in the creation and implementation of social and economic development strategies through music. Jordi is also co-founder and CEO of Unison, the first private and for-profit music copyright management operator in Spain.
It’s one of the European pioneers in this space, and one of the first two private music rights management companies to be accepted as a Client RME in CISAC. Unison manages rights in more than 2.5M songs for +400 clients from 30 countries, collectively representing +40k rights holders.
